Editorial Policy

Our standards for testing, review, updates, and corrections.

People use PoolBotWise to decide what to buy and how to fix expensive equipment. That responsibility shapes how every guide is researched, written, reviewed, and maintained.

How we research

Guides start with a real question owners ask, then get answered with hands-on work: robots run in real pools, cycles timed, baskets weighed, worn parts examined. Where a claim depends on a manufacturer figure we cannot reproduce, we check it against the official manual and frame it as such.

How we test

Cleaning tests are repeated before we report them, because a single run can flatter or slander any robot. Debris tests use the messes pools actually collect: leaves, sand, pollen, and algae film. Long-term calls, like lifespan and battery aging, come from machines we have owned or serviced across seasons.

How we write

Plain language, in the order you would actually act, with the numbers attached. We explain what a reading or behavior means and what to do next. Where a step carries safety risk, the warning comes before the step, not after.

Review and accuracy

Every guide is checked against product documentation before publishing. When readers or new testing show something is wrong or incomplete, we correct the guide rather than defend it.

Updates and dating

Robots, apps, and firmware change. When a guide gets a meaningful revision, its updated date changes so you can judge how current it is.

Corrections

Spotted an error? Email [email protected] or use the contact form. Verified corrections are applied quickly, and we appreciate every reader who helps keep the guides accurate.
